My Photography Story

During my junior year of high school, I enrolled in a yearbook class and began photographing varsity football games on Friday nights. That’s when I discovered my love for photography. Although I had always enjoyed it, it wasn’t until I started athletic photography for the school that I realized how much I truly loved it.

By senior year, I decided to change my future plans. Originally, I had planned to study agricultural business at Tarleton State University, but I made a bold decision to pursue my true passion. I enrolled at Texas Tech University, majoring in Creative Media Industries and Sports Management.

Once in Lubbock, I fully immersed myself in campus life. I joined Raider Riot as a Marketing Executive and worked for the Daily Toreador newspaper on the Multimedia Staff. That summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study Tourism Photography in Iceland for the first half and work as the photographer at Kanakuk Family Camp for the second half. The following fall, I took a leap of faith and applied for a photography internship with Texas Tech Athletics, where I’m now in my third year. My role focuses on capturing the excitement of baseball, football, men’s basketball, golf and more. Through this internship, I’ve also had the opportunity to freelance for the Big 12 at many sporting events. Every day, I feel incredibly fortunate to be doing what I love.

Background Story
